Dr. Gretchen Hui, Dr. Stacey Weinrick, and the rest of the City Pets Veterinary Clinic team offers professional veterinary care to a wide range of small and exotic pets, including dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, ferrets, hedgehogs, sugar gliders, reptiles (snakes, bearded dragons, etc.) and rodents (hamsters, guinea pigs, rats, etc.).  Dr. Hui and Dr. Weinrick, with over 24 years combined experience, are dedicated to providing the most up-to-date, compassionate, and personalized high quality veterinary care for your pet.

  • Dr. Stacey Weinrick

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Weinrick graduated from MSU's College of Veterinary Medicine with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2003.  After graduation, Dr. Weinrick worked alongside Dr. Gretchen Hui in a small & exotic animal practice in Ann Arbor for 6 years, after which time she worked at the Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) for another several years.  Dr. Weinrick is thrilled to now be operating City Pets Veterinary Clinic for small and exotic animals here in Ann Arbor alongside Dr. Hui.

    Dr. Weinrick is committed to providing personalized high quality Veterinary care. She is compassionate and sensitive to the needs of both people and their pets, and happy to be a part of the Ann Arbor Veterinary community where she has lived and worked for many years.  Outside of the clinic, Dr. Weinrick enjoys spending time with her husband and young son, as well as with the rest of her family, which includes a Doberman and 3 cats. Dr. Weinrick also enjoys a variety of hobbies, including running, biking, yoga, and gardening.

  • Dr. Gretchen Hui

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Gretchen Hui graduated from MSU with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in May 2003.  During her time at MSU she gained knowledge about exotic pet medicine and surgery through her work at other universities, zoos, wildlife rehabilitation centers, and by participating in toxicology research with a variety of birds in Uganda.  She hopes to provide the same quality care you have grown to expect for your cats and dogs for your exotic pets. 

    Outside of the clinic, Dr. Hui enjoys spending time with her husband and friends, and trying to keep up with her 6.5 year old daughter and 4 year old son.  The rest of her family includes two mixed breed dogs, two cats, and a turtle that have all come from various rescue groups in the surrounding areas.  Dr. Hui's other hobbies include hiking, rollerblading, watching college sports, Yoga/Pilates, and just about anything else that allows her to enjoy the outdoors.

  • Jessica Kunka

    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Jessica completed her undergraduate degree at Grand Valley State University in 2008 and then moved to Denver, Colorado where she completed the technician program at Bel-Rea in 2010.  Jess grew up in Canton, Michigan and returned to Michigan to work in a small animal clinic as a licensed vet tech.  She has grown up with dogs and currently lives with her very sweet, 3-legged cat, Superman.

  • Paul Dire

    Veterinary Assistant

    Paul grew up near Seattle, Washington, where he had many pet dogs and also rode and trained horses. After graduating from Washington State University with a degree in graphic design, Paul moved to Michigan and worked for Northwest Airlines for several years before he began working in the Veterinary care field. Having had the pleasure of working with Dr. Weinrick and Dr. Hui at another small animal and exotics Veterinary practice in Ann Arbor, Paul is very excited to be working with them again and to be a part of the City Pets Veterinary Clinic team.

    When not at work, Paul enjoys staying active and being with his family and friends, who are most important to him. Included in his family are his beloved Pomeranians “Cindy Lou” and “Vita” and his two cats "Monty" and "Orangie".

  • Bill Gibson

    Veterinary Assistant

    Bill attended Eastern Michigan University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.  He was born into a family of animal lovers and there was always some sort of critter running around the house, from dogs and cats to iguanas and cockatiels.  Bill always dreamed of working with animals and got his chance when he started working as a Veterinary Assistant in 2005.

    When Bill isn’t at City Pets Veterinary Clinic, he enjoys reading at home with his two kittens, Eevee and Sheldon, and his lab, Bentley.  Bill tries to stay active by scuba diving, rock climbing and running 5Ks like the Warrior Dash.  Bill recently got his motorcycle endorsement and looks forward to his first trip across the country.

  • Sarah Paddock

    Veterinary Assistant

    Sarah returned to the Ann Arbor area after two years in Alabama and reports Nick Saban isn’t all that bad.  She will be attending Baker College this fall and applying for the Vet Technician program next fall.

    She’s getting plenty of hands-on experience both at the clinic and at home where she lives on a farm with her Great Pyrenees, “Meekah”.  In her free time, she enjoys riding horses, milking cows and chasing goats.
